Artfully Sent - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

The third card in my series of Artfully Sent Christmas cards uses the scene key on page 48. I cut my card at 6" for dimensions of 4" x 6".

This one is very simple, but I added a little more interest by placing some purple shimmer trim behind one of the words cut out on the liner. This is echoed with the shimmer trim on the front of the card.

Artfully Sent - Seasons Greetings

A second card from the Artfully Sent Collection. This one is a pop-up card found on p49 of the booklet. I cut this one at 4" instead of 5", producing a card with dimensions 4" x 6".

The front of the card I decorated with the tree stamp from Workshops on the Go Showhaven Cardmaking kit and "Season's Greetings" from Merriest Christmas B1468. The label on which "Season's Greetings" was stamped comes from the Art Philosophy Cricut Collection. I added a little bling with some gold shimmer trim.

The inside, pop up, was completely from the design in Artfully Sent.

Artfully Sent - Joy to the World

I am completely in love with my new Cricut Artfully Sent collection. There are so many different options and I have only just started to scratch the surface of the possibilities.

Here is one of the first cards I have made with this cartridge. I have made a series of Christmas cards, getting in early so that I don't have a mad rush to get them done before December.

For this card I used one of the sleeve keys (I like to think of these as overlays, since I love using overlays in my scrapbooking). I cut this one at the prescribed size of 7" which makes a card with dimensions 5" x 7". I cut the "sleeve" out of white daisy cardstock (which comes with the Artfully Sent collection). Then I used paper from the Brushed and Paper Fundamentals Whimsy packs.

The stamp images are from Noel C1598. I stamped them with Versamark ink and then used Princess Gold embossing powder to add some sparkle, shine and depth. To finish, I added a little gold shimmer trim.

Shin Han markers

Two very simple cards using one of the SOTM sets from last year, just to try out my colouring technique using the Shin Han Markers - totally love the richness of the colours!

One Sheet Wonder

I came across some pins on Pinterest relating to "one sheet wonders" - a bunch of cards made using just one sheet of patterned paper.

I used this template:
From this website: Roberts Crafts

I cut a sheet of B&T paper from the Ivy Lane WOTG pack using the above template. Then matching it with Colonial white pre-cut cards, one sheet each of blush, sweet leaf, bamboo and desert sand cardstock, as well as small amounts of hollyhock and outdoor denim cardstock, I made the following cards.

The flowers were made using the tutorial on Christine's Creative Capers - so easy to make and very addictive (you have been warned ;))

The stamp sets I used are as follows:
D1598 Aussie Praises
D1586 Outback Adventure
D1542 For a Friend
D1536 Perfect Fit Frames 2
D1546 Frame Flair
B1438 Banner Wishes
D1525 Casual Expressions
C1568 The Party Is On
D1584 Big Hug

Ivy Lane Cardmaking Kit

I love this kit so much. In an afternoon, I was able to make 15 stunning cards. I followed the cutting guides exactly and made up the cards as instructed in the booklet. Here are the three variations:

Then I used some of the scraps (and some extra paper from another Ivy Lane pack) to make a matching box. I was only able to fit 10 cards and their envelopes in the box because of the dimensional elements on each card. I was inspired by someone else I saw who'd used the base and bling pendant as a handle to open the lid with.

Artbooking overlays

Yesterday I was inspired to use some of overlays found on the Cricut Artbooking cartridge to make some cards. These overlays are intended for scrapbook layouts but can easily be re-sized to make cards.

I cut my overlays at 5.5" to make a 5.5" square card.

My cards all feature the Free To Be Me paper  which as part of our National Scrapbooking Month campaign, can be purchased for only $5 with a qualifying order of $75.

The sunburst overlay is the easy way to complete a sunburst card! The stamped sentiment on this card is from Patterned Pennants D1534. Ink colours were Slate and Smoothie.

The next card uses one of the stamps from the Artiste Collection, the Word Balloons set D1531. Ink used was Lagoon.

This last card, I stamped the Love Doily first onto the feather print vellum and then on to white daisy paper and cut out the centre lace pattern and used foam tape to adhere it to the vellum. There's a little bit of bling in the centre of the "star". I also used a bit of teal shimmer tape. Inks used were slate (on the vellum) and whisper on the white daisy.

Washi tape and Chipboard frames

When you purchase the Artbooking Cricut Collection from CTMH, you get a bunch of coordinating pre-cut chipboard shapes and stamps.

To date, I haven't really used the chipboard shapes and the other day, while flicking through the Idea Book, I was inspired by a card on page 99. Here's my version of that card:
I was inspired to cover the frame with washi tape. I really like the result! I used images from the Hello Blooms stamp set to complete the card.

Today, I had a go at creating another card using the washi tape and chipboard frame combination. This time I used the Owls stamp set and watercolour pencils.

I have been saving Colour Inspiration to my Pinterest boards for some time now. Today I challenged myself to use one of the saved colour combinations to make a card.

This colour combo was titled "Tuscan tones" but it reminded me of Australian colours too. So I got out my new Australian stamps and set to work.

The Close To My Heart colours I used are:
Cocoa, Creme brûlée, Goldrush, Colonial white, Ponderosa pine, Topiary, and Olive.

I also used a Card Map from

Birthday card

I made this card for my niece's birthday which is today. We went to the zoo together - her birthday present was zoo membership, so now she can go as often as she likes for the next year. We had a great day!
The card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest - it can be found here:

Bracket frame

I made these two bracket frames yesterday. The photos are of the infamous Matterhorn in Switzerland. I used embellishments from Cricut Art Nouveau and the rosette from Cricut Artiste. Lots of fun to make!

Saturday, March 15, 2014

It's been a long time since I posted anything. I went to an all day crop yesterday which was a lot of fun and very inspiring. I made a few cards and completed a couple of layouts. It was great to spend some time with some fellow scrapping/stamping addicts too.

My first card was the "make and take", designed by my wonderful upline Christine Lothian
This card uses the new Exclusive Australian stamps - who would have thought that the Balloon Ride paper could look just like an Aboriginal art work?

The next card used up some paper scraps I had after making a card also with the the Balloon Ride paper.

My favourite stamp set is Feathers - C1584. So versatile and very elegant, I think.
And another card, not made yesterday but last weekend, but also using the Feathers stamp set. I also used so paper I had left over from the Lollydoodle card making kit, though of course you could use the Lollydoodle paper pack.

Some layouts

It is fast coming to the end of my Summer holidays. I have very much enjoyed spending time relaxing and catching up on my favourite hobbies. Watching tennis, knitting, reading and of course, scrapbooking.

Here are some layouts I have created in the last week, incorporating some ideas and products from the new catalog due out February 1st.

This first layout uses the new Lollydoodle paper pack. It is just perfect for photos of little girls - and so I used it for these darling photos of my great-niece Rylee.
This next layout uses the Sparkle and Shine Workshop on the go and my new favourite thing: Overlays cut using the Artbooking Cricut cartridge.

And another new favourite, the background paper on this layout is the new Paper Fundamentals Basics Assortment. It is a double-sided paper. On one side, the paper has a shiny pattern, in this case a chervon stripe. On the reverse side, the same pattern but in black and white. Love this paper!

I have really enjoyed re-discovering paper scrapbooking!

Cloud Nine Cardmaking kit

I pinned this card a while back on Pinterest:

Today, I decided to try it using the Cloud Nine Cardmaking kit. I used the Lagoon paper, the printed paper and the Lagoon shimmer trim from the kit. The sentiment inside is from "You are my happy - icons and sentiments" CC1025. The tag on the front is from Casual Expressions D1525.

You can follow the tutorial of how to make this card here: Krafting Kreations

Happy New Year!

Gosh, it's been a long time since I added anything to my blog! Life gets busy sometimes.

Here's a card I made today. I wanted the Love Doily (B1418) stamp from the moment I saw it - but strangely this is the first time I have used it! I used the Tone-on-Tone technique, using the same colour ink as the paper I was stamping on. I really like this effect.

I am in the process of making a "mini-album" using the Cricut Artbooking collection and will post that when I am done.
